47 years ago in 1965, one of the best rock bands of all times The Pink Floyd Band (Pink Floyd),appeared in Cambridge,England. It was composed by Roger Waters, Nick Mason, Richard Wright and Syd Barrett.
In 1967 the band released its breakthrough album,The Piper at the Gates of Dawn, with the direction of Barrett.
But with the excessive consumption of drugs mainly LSD, Barrett had a great mental deterioration, David Gilmar was called as a vocal in place of Barratt that was distanced in April 1968.
The group recorded several successful albums including Atom Heart Mother, Dark Side of the Moon and Animals.
And in 1979 during the recording of the album The Wall,Roger Waters had assumed full control of the band. Rick Wright was removed from the process of creating and designing, which culminated in his expulsion from the band during the recording of The Wall, although later participated in the shows.

However Gilmar and Mason continued to lead the Pink Floyd, released the album A Momentary Lace of Reason and The Division Bell
In an interview with Italian newspaper "La Repubblica" on February 3, 2006, Gilmar indicated the end of Pink Floyd, stating that the famous group did not produce any new material, or return to meet again.
However the group reunited for a performance at the Live-8 in July from day 2 to 6, 2005 in England.
Pink Floyd is one of most influential rock group and commercially successful in history, having sold over 300 million albuns around the world .
Pink Floyd was not the first band's name. Before you were known by Sigma 6, T-Set, Megadeaths, Abdabs and The Pink Floyd Sound. The name Pink Floyd is to merge the names of two old blues musicians, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council (Dipper Boy), which influenced Syd Barret. Syd named the band with the name of one of the disks of the duo, The Pink Floyd Sound, later shortened to Pink Floyd.
The title of the album "Atom Heart Mother", refers to a curious medical experience real, related to the intervention of an artificial heart in the recovery of a pregnant woman
The album "The Dark Side Of The Moon" (the most famous band), remained 740 weeks on the U.S. list "Billboard" and 301 weeks in the UK and sold over 25 million copies

Bob Geldoff, lead singer in "The Wall" was the group "Boomtown Rats" who made a big hit with "I Dom'n Like Mondays", based on a story that moved to England, when a girl came to school on a Monday morning and killed several classmates. When asked why he did it, his response was: "I Dom'n Like Mondays" -
Children sing "Another Brick In The Wall - Part III" were students from a nearby school to the recording studio, and each received a copy of the disc as payment for his collaboration
